Disruptions on I-44 during summer 20122012-06-14 08:32:15staff

From June 18, 2012, to hopefully early September there will be evening construction delays on I-44 due to a pavement repair and resurfacing project starting with the eastbound lanes near Halltown. The project will eventually include both sides of I-44 between mile marker 58 and mile marker 72 (Chestnut Expressway, Springfield). The speed limit will be reduced to 60 mph in the work zone scheduled from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Mondays through Fridays. Ramp work in early August will see closures between mile marker 70 and 88. However, the ramp at Route 360 will remain open, only narrowed. APAC-Missouri of Columbia is the prime contractor with a low-bid amount of $5.5 million.
