US Navy ship to hold reunion

The USS Nitro AE-2/AE-23 Association is trying to locate its ex-crew members for a reunion to be held from June 19-22, 2008.

A wreath laying ceremony will take place on the landing of the Branson Belle Showboat on Saturday, June 21 prior to boarding for a two-hour luncheon/show cruise on Table Rock Lake in Branson. A chartered motor coach will be available for any group activities away from the Branson Towers Hotel, 236 Shepherd of the Hills Expressway. These activities are still in the planning stage and input is encouraged by going here.

A block of 30 rooms has been set aside at the Branson Towers Hotel in Branson, MO. The special rate for a spacious "Double Queen" standard room, with occupancy of up to four people is $59.95/per night, plus tax. There are also a limited number of "King" standard non-smoking rooms available for the group rate of $69.95/per night, plus tax. The room rates also include a complimentary deluxe continental breakfast. Make reservations directly with the hotel by phoning (800) 683-1122 or (417) 336-4500. To secure the rate mention the USS Nitro Association. Your credit card will not be charged until you check out and you may cancel your reservations up to 48 hours prior to the day of your arrival. Additional room nights, before or after the reunion, may be made at our reunion group rate on an "as available" basis.
